OCSB Summer School

posted May 11, 2020, 5:53 AM by Sarah Schildknecht
We have received updated Summer School information from our board's Continuing and Community Education Department.
Summer School will be moving ahead with the following important changes:

1) Online Reach Ahead courses will be offered as previously advertised (no change). In the event that the Ministry of Education further extends school closures, the planned in class Day School Reach Ahead courses will move to a distance learning model. Students should only register for a Day School Reach Ahead course if they are willing to still take this course online via distance learning if necessary.

2) Registration for Summer School has moved fully online through a Google form submission, and no longer requires a student's Guidance Counsellor or Principal signature. Please see this linkThis form is to be completed by a student's parent/guardian only.
If a student has already submitted a paper Summer School Registration Form to the school prior to March Break, they still must resubmit the online Google form to confirm, we apologize for this inconvenience.

3) The SHSM Co-op and Gr. 7 and 8 Skills Builder programs have been cancelled for this summer.

4) There will still be a forthcoming announcement about the Credit Recovery Achievement Centre Summer School program for Gr. 9 and 10 students. Registrations are not currently being accepted for this program.

5) We are aware that many students at St. FX were planning on taking Summer School courses with the Ottawa Carleton District School Board. At this time this board has not updated their Summer School procedures and registration remains closed. More information will be shared with our school community once it is available.

For more Summer School information please see the OCSB Summer School 2020 website.
