Welcome to the new school year! On behalf of the staff at St. Francis Xavier High School, we extend a warm welcome to all returning families and those joining our Coyote community for the first time.
Guided by our board’s spiritual theme to "Nourish New Beginnings," we remain committed to fostering deep learning, student well-being, and a strong sense of community. Our staff have spent the summer preparing our classrooms and learning spaces for a smooth, safe, and successful start.
Opening a Grade 7–12 high school is a multi-layered process that relies on months of dedicated teamwork. As we prepare to welcome our students back, our experienced administrative and guidance teams are fully on track for a smooth start. To help us focus on finalizing essential operational details for all learners, we kindly ask students and families to refrain from submitting individualized schedule adjustment requests prior to the first day of school.
Please note that any course or schedule information students may currently see online or hear about is tentative, as necessary staffing and section adjustments are continually made right up to the start of the school year.
We value our partnership with you and look forward to working together to support your child's success and growth this year. We can't wait to see our students back in the building on Tuesday, September 1st!
We are pleased to invite you and your child to our upcoming Orientation Session at St. Francis Xavier High School.
We understand that transitioning to a new school can bring a mix of excitement and nerves, and this session is designed to help you and your student feel comfortable and prepared for the year ahead. This event will provide a wonderful opportunity to meet some of our staff, tour the school, and set up your Parent Portal and SchoolCash Online accounts. Locks can be purchased for $10 (cash)

Grade 7–8 students have access to the cafeteria every day at lunch, but are required to remain on school property during this time. If a Grade 7–8 student needs to leave at lunch, they must be signed out and picked up by a parent or guardian.
High school students are permitted to leave school property at lunch; however, they are expected to manage their time responsibly so they can purchase lunch and return promptly for their Period 3 class.
Parents/Guardians, we’ve created a checklist to help you get ready for the start of school. Please verify your contact and emergency information to ensure we have the most accurate details on file. If your child has a serious medical condition (asthma, life-threatening allergy, diabetes, epilepsy/seizures, concussion/head injury), you need to inform the school using the Life-Threatening Medical Condition Verification Form. You will also need to submit the appropriate condition-specific Plan of Care form.
These forms are linked on the Life-Threatening Medical Condition Verification Form and available on the board website. If your child carries an epipen or other life-saving medications, we will also require an Administration of Medication form to be completed. If the required Plan of Care form has previously been submitted to the school and there are no changes to be made, please complete the Plan of Care Annual Review Sheet. If you need to make a change to your plan of care, please submit a new plan of care form. Please submit all forms to Kim.Geha@ocsb.ca.
