This week, our school community is taking time to honour and remember the courage and sacrifice of those who have served and continue to serve in Canada’s Armed Forces.
Classes are visiting a gallery walk featuring student artwork, projects, and displays that highlight moments in Canada’s military history. A school memorial display also provides a space for students and staff to post the names of loved ones they wish to remember and honour. As part of our commemoration, a digital slideshow has been created to recognize family members who have served, both past and present.
Our school will come together for a reading of In Flanders Fields, the playing of The Last Post, and a moment of silence as we collectively reflect and give thanks.
We are deeply grateful to our staff and students for the thought, creativity, and reverence they have shown in helping us commemorate this important occasion.
As we approach the reporting period, we want to ensure that parents and caregivers have a clear understanding of their child's achievement and progress.
Grades 7 and 8 Progress Reports will be printed and sent home with students on November 12, 2026. They will also be available through the Parent Portal.
For additional information about understanding your child's achievement, please refer to: Understanding Your Child's Achievement – Grades 7 & 8.
High School Midterm Report Cards (Grades 9–12) will be available through the Parent Portal by the end of the day on November 17, 2026.
For additional information about understanding your child's achievement, please refer to: Understanding Your Child's Achievement – Grades 9–12.
We encourage families to review these reports with their children and use them as an opportunity to celebrate progress, recognize areas of strength and identify next steps for continued growth and success.

On Friday, October 30, our Best Buddies had a spooktacular time celebrating Halloween! Friends enjoyed creating some festive Halloween crafts, munching on delicious treats (generously donated by Maryanne King), and wrapping up the festivities with an epic dance party!
A big thank you to everyone who helped make the celebration so much fun. It was wonderful to see so many smiles, great energy and Halloween spirit!
Sandwich Day
On Tues., Nov. 3rd, Mrs. Rideout’s Grade 12 Religion class completed a sandwich-making drive for three local shelters, successfully translating Catholic social teaching and global sustainability goals into direct community action. Taking full ownership of the initiative, students organized an efficient assembly day, preparing, packaging, and delivering over 550 nutritious Sandwiches. By working together to address local food insecurity—aligning directly with UN Sustainable Development Goals- the class put faith into action, putting the values of human dignity and social justice into practice while deepening their commitment to faith-filled citizenship. Stay tuned for Day 2, when Mr. Baars’ and Ms. Abunnasar’s Gr. 12 Religion classes will participate in STFX Sandwich Day.

Communicating Absences on Inclement Weather Days
When yellow school buses are cancelled due to inclement weather, our school remains open for learning. If your child is a bus rider and will be staying home on a bus cancellation day, please remember that you must still report their absence.
All student absences must be submitted through SafeArrival prior to the start of the school day. Reporting your child’s absence promptly ensures all students are accounted for and assists our administrative team with morning attendance checks. Thank you for your continued cooperation in keeping our school community safe!
SafeArrival, is an attendance management system that makes it faster and easier for parents/guardians to report student absences or late arrivals. Instead of contacting the school, you can now report absences securely in one of three ways:
